A message from our teachers:
A quick recap of the month of May and it is not difficult to see what a wonderful place Queen’s Park Preschool really is! So much awesomeness going on, including: saying thank you and farewell to our practicum student Jennifer, celebrating our moms, having a fun pajama day, visiting The Gallery in the Park, and having a Teddy Bear Picnic! Our morning fours even had a “Cat Day!” A highlight of the month was celebrating Ms. Naho and surprising her with a baby shower! Congratulations Ms. Naho and thank you everyone for your loving kindness shared and expressed! What a wonderful community we are!
It is so hard to believe that the month of May is over and here we are welcoming the month of June! Where did the year go? In the month of June we have set our dates for Kindergarten Transition Meetings! This is such an exciting and bittersweet time! If you have not signed up and wish to have a chat with the teachers let us know! For two weeks we are welcoming practicum student Cora Efrom. Cora will be with us from May 30th until June 10th. Thank you for helping Cora feel welcome. Queen’s Park Preschool loves to host
practicum students. It is a great opportunity for learning and growing together as a team, as well as mentoring future early childhood educators!
In the month of June we have some fun activities planned! Thursday June 2nd and Friday June 3rd are Water Day! Bring extra clothes please (shorts/bathing suit/towel) and weather permitting we will have lots of water play outside. On Thursday June 9th and Friday June 10th we are celebrating all of the summer birthdays!
Don’t forget that our last days of preschool are on Thursday June 16th and Friday June 17th. On the last days of school we have a one hour class! In the fours we have a small graduation ceremony planned and a party snack. In the threes we have a party snack planned and some extra fun activities! (Morning classes on the last days are from 10:00-11:00 and afternoon classes are 1:00-2:00.)
Thank you everyone for making Queen’s Park Preschool the magical, wonderful, warm community it is! We truly are lucky to play, learn, and grow together. We are family after all, in so many ways! To those graduating and moving on, we will miss you. To those returning in the fall, we can’t wait to meet again!
Have a safe and happy summer everyone!
Your teaching team.
A recipe to try: Watermelon Pizza
The cutest pizza ever! Have fun choosing toppings and decorating this “pizza” with your little ones. And of course, it’s perfect for summertime! Check out Watermelon Pizza, courtesy of Pick Up Limes: pickuplimes.com/recipe/watermelon-pizza-137.
A book to read: The Hike
Written and illustrated by Alison Farrell, this picture book tells the exciting story of three children (and their dog!) who go on a hike in the summertime. Together, they explore nature, learning about plants and animals along the way. This book will inspire you to head out on your own adventure with your little ones as well!
Warmly,
