Message From Our Teachers
In the month of June we will wrap up the year with inside-outside days and just plain having fun in the sun! Planting, growing, and exploring insect life continues, including investigating baby spiders and enjoying our flowers and plants in the yard. This makes sense as QPP is an important part of your child’s world. The children appreciate beauty and love to watch our preschool yard bloom and transform. As long as our fascination with food continues we will be expanding our dramatic play “cooking and baking” and “selling” our wares to one another. In our three year old classes, an interest in construction and construction tools will fuel our learning through play activities in June. Instruments and music making remains popular in all classes so we plan to continue with this exploration both indoor and out. In our four year old classes we will continue with kindergarten readiness skills, strengthening our fine motor skills with activities such as scissor use, finger painting, and writing table activities. Shapes, colours and numbers activities are continually highlighted in subtle ways through songs, movement, stories and free play. Most of all, social emotional wellbeing continues to be our focus. We are building on kindness, empathy, friendliness and inclusivity. Be Who You Are by Todd Parr is a great book to share with your child!

It is that time of year when saying thank you is simply not enough. Saying thank you is only the beginning. Queen’s Park Parent Participation Preschool would not exist without the support and encouragement of the community. The fact that a not-for-profit such as ours exists and successfully thrives year after year is directly in relation to the local community and the families in our community, our healthy membership, and our parent volunteers. So thank you one and all. Every parent job is vital and your volunteerism is most necessary and integral. Your teachers wish to thank our endlessly hardworking executive members led by our current tireless president Nina who along with our executive board, our class representatives and our expanded green team members and shopping parents helped keep the preschool running effectively and smoothly. It has been a busy year for one and all. Together we navigated, adapted and supported one another. So thank you all so very much. It has been a rewarding and positive year. Most of all, your children had fun, learned through play and built the beginnings of foundational relationship skills that will last a lifetime. THANK YOU!
