A message from our teachers:<\/h2>\r\n

What crazy weather we had this month! We had chilly hail winter weather and warm sunny springy weather as well. Hope it will be warmer and sunnier next month:)\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

A big THANK YOU!\u00a0We\u2019d like to say thank you to all who came to our art exhibition \u201cStrings and Things\u201d. Not only our QPP families, but also many local people visited the exhibit as well.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

We also wanted to say thank you to all who came to the spring yard cleaning last Saturday. Now we have much more space to explore the forest yard. Nickie Lewis, the local twine and twig artist, set up 4 awesome creations, and the 4 year old class worked collaboratively with her to add the heart-shaped wooden decorations on one of the creations, the Mother Earth.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Things that we explored in April\u2026<\/p>\r\n

  • We celebrated Easter and Earth Day this month. We enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in our forest yard, and did some special art activities. We dyed coffee filters with Earth colours and made our own Earth. We also talked about what we can do to protect the earth during circle time. We turned off the classroom light while we were outside to save energy too. Let’s continue thinking about how to take care of Earth:)<\/li>\r\n
  • Teachers noticed that some children were talking about aliens, and we\u2019ve been exploring aliens and monsters with play dough and collage.<\/li>\r\n
  • We\u2019ve been exploring our forest yard a lot these days! Children are enjoying going up and down the hills and learning how to coordinate their muscles. We found many bugs as the weather got warmer. We also built a marble run in the forest yard on Friday, and the children are loving it:) We took a stroll to our amazing park quite a few times this month. We enjoyed colour hunting with our practicum student, Jennifer.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    Next month\u2026<\/b><\/p>\r\n

    We will start a Mother’s Day gift project. Teachers are also planning to go for a walk more often and play in our forest yard and play yard longer:)\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
